Because it suits their needs and isn't killing people.

It's not that we should be getting rid of fast food, it's that we should be regulating what goes in it. Like any other restaurant.

Where did you get the idea that they aren't regulated?

The bigger concern is the bread not being moldy.

I worked for them and the packages say 100% beef. Still, I guess they pack them with junk. I didn't eat them much after working there in high school though. Maybe I should stop period. This is a concern.

It is cheaper to buy beef at the store and make hamburgers yourself (a McD hamburger is 1/10 lb. pre-cooked weight) so $2.30 for 1 pound of beef makes 10 hamburgers, use normal sandwich bread ($1.10 for 20 slices) and a plain hamburger should work out to around $0.35-0.40 (counting catsup and mustard and 1 pickle each).

Cheaper AND healthier.

You could bring that price down even more if you buy that sort of stuff on sale in bulk, and then make sure to store it properly.

On the rare occasions I go to McDonald's, all I get is a large fries and a large soda (usually a Coke). Mostly because I'm a salad and coffee hating vegan, which means those are basically the only things I can get.

First hamburger had sliced bread:

$5.25 seems overpriced. I am guessing it is due to tourist invasion (the place is historical). Looks good but $2 is fair, $3 max. I can make the same thing for less than $1 at home.

Your prejudice prevents you from enjoying healthful affordable food.
McDonald's is good nutritious honest food and beats its competition all hollow for value.
Liberals kick it around because it represents what they hate: popularity, accessibility, affordability, something that is not trendy clique smart like Whole Foods (who can afford it?).
Let people live life and eat wholesome affordable meals. Stop treating this as if it is some sort of crime.
