Okay, that was insulting.

My dad, while I admit he hasn't been perfect, he has been a damn good parent and I don't think I could be the person I am today without him. To say he hasn't been a good father is basically saying I am a piece of shit person in my opinion.

We should probablty make a distinction between "beating" and actual corporal discipline.

Beating is unstructured and indiscriminate, the latter is used merely as a last resort physical deterrent.
