I never was terribly "racist", but to some degree I'm a white nationalist. As Draganograd said, I don't dislike people based on skin color, but by actions of a particular group. I have nothing against African Americans or Hispanics, but African American communities have a higher crime rate, as with average Hispanic communities. As a rule, I think segregation and apartheid is wrong, but I would vastly prefer living in a white community than an ethnic community.

That being said, there are a few groups I absolutely detest, Chechens, Zionists, Israelis, FSA terrorists, and fundamentalists of any religion.
I've been called an anti-semite, Nazi, Evil jew hater etc. due to my anger towards Israel and the fact I dislike Zionist Jews. I've met many Jewish people and found them to be wonderful people but that does not stop me from hating Israel for it's politics and indiscriminate holocaust on palestinians.

One scenario I see a lot of is the "it's because I'm black, isn't it?" game.
In the schools I attended, people of color were almost never punished for fighting, theft, vandalism, swearing in class etc.
they would always pull the race card because the principal and 99% of the teachers were white. They always got away with it too, because the school was too afraid of law suits to instill any sort of order.

In short, It's not about skin color, it's about what you do. If you label someone a racist because they don't like you for your actions and they just so happen to be of a different race, you are the racist.

It's more like If your house gets reappropriated by someone, you think illegitimately, then given to someone else, but you're allowed to keep the basement. Then every so often one of your family members murders one of the new owners and the new owners start getting pissed off by this and start encroaching on your basement and killing your family members.

I'm still a little bit prejudiced against African Americans (note: African Americans, not native Africans), for reasons I don't fully understand.

But I try very hard not to be.

Asian American here. You know, I subscribe to the "everyone is a person in the end" idea, yet I still have some underlying prejudice towards Black People, specifically African Americans. I know, I know, it's racist and it's a horrible thing to have but I think it is based on my experiences with many African Americans in the past. I have met wonderful African Americans (note, I have had few if any related problems with hostility or attempted altercations with African people like Nigerians), but I can't say I've had friendly experiences with most African Americans. I'll bet I'm not trying hard enough, and I try to look beyond this prejudicial instinct, but it's still here, like a dark, cruel beast hiding under my skin.

Note that I have absolutely no problem with other ethnic groups or with Nigerians, Kenyans, South Africans, and so on. I guess I can also hide behind that ol' musical number in Avenue Q:

I think the problem is misunderstanding. There are cultural differences in races, you just cannot expect everyone to fall under those differences all the time. I grew up with a very large black population, in fact whites were the minority. It may have looked like the people you met or had trouble with were acting hostile, but they probably weren't, the cultural mannerisms are different. I might be completely wrong however, as I did not see what you saw.

After travelling around the world and actually meeting these groups, I realised I was a dumbass and I now try to prevent skin colour from colouring my judgement of groups.

Race isn't a primary concern for me, that's why I don't often bring it up here. As usual, I'm more focused on combatting liberals.

What's sad is that people are willing to throw around "racist" as a joke when racial prejudice is serious. Take, for example, the Rwandan genocide. Racism was one of the main causes of it.

I've never really considered myself racist. Racism, as with all intolerance and prejudice, is pointless in my view. It's a way for weak people to feel stronger when really they're the same as everyone else. What is the point of insulting people based on their culture or ethnicity? There isn't one, because everyone is human.

Being racist was always stupid to me. I judge people by the ideology they keep, not by the color of their skin or their bits under their trousers. By judging based on skin color you exclude more members to your ideology. Even a flaming racist would understand that there are people of X ethnic group willing to compromise or serve.

Hahahaha, no. I was one of the only East Asians living in my area, and my interest was rather in Japanese traditional music, architecture, cherry blossoms, and aesthetics. The only thing close to anime I'd watched during that period was Pokemon when I was a little kid, which probably doesn't even count anyhow. I also already had lots of contact with Asian girls due to visits, guests, and social events.

However, Korea was part of the Japanese Empire, having become a protectorate in 1905, and becoming annexed in 1910.

Someone tried that at my middle school and they were very embarrassed when they found out the principal, who they had accused of discriminating against their son, was black.
