Well let's see. When Obama won the Noble Peace Prize althogh he has done nothing for peace anyone who I debated it with would say "You just don't like it because he's black"

What exactly does this have to do with Congress?

Nothing because it wasn't supposed to. My point was that the Reoublicans aren't the only ones doing that kind of stuff.

(If I had to choose I'd be a republican because I don't beleive in manbearpig COUGHalgoreCOUGH)

No, they're the only ones intentionally disrupting Congress. But just to be fair, show me one single instance of a Democratic congressman being disruptive in Congress by shouting 'racist' repeatedly during someone else's time to speak.

I'll wait.

And I don't think Al Gore believes in himself anymore, that's a horrid reason to side with the modern day Republican majority on an issue that's not universally denied by their party alone, nor is as fundamental to their structure.

Yes, I suppose applying the rules of the House would be rather unfair.

I agree that we should apply the rules, but we both know that the following screams of "PERSECUTING CONSERVATIVES" would be quite loud.

How... why.... oh, forget it. If the Republicans want to be children, they should get treated as such and sent out until they can wrap their heads around debate.

I understand, but screams of persecution would echo as loudly as the cries of a rapist or a murderer crying about being arrested. If you do something you know is specifically against the rules, then complaining about persecution when you're punished is rather empty.

Sigh, the Republicans used to be a somewhat respectable party, but they've headed down the path of childish games and petty partisan antics. I have no respect for people who act in such a way to disrupt the democratic process and silence free speech. Of course if they're asked to play by the rules like everyone else, it will only feed their persecution complex and make their supporters even louder.

I hope that the Libertarians replace them as the other party when you consider the increasingly fundamentalist approach the Republicans are taking.
