That's quite sad to hear. :(
I think society does try to force you to leave your 'childish' ways behind.

Not really. Society Sooociiiety tends to encourage people to be rather childish in many respects, in fact.

Of course, maybe I'm just approaching this from the wrong side since I never had a childhood to give up in that sense.

Agreed, society sooociiiety is evil. I say that as long as noone's being hurt and no laws are broken, go for it. What others think doesn't matter a bit.

Get it right, folks.

I wonder if theres any shorter way to write it, or a less whiny sounding word to use. At any rate I'd say Sooociiiety or however you guys spell it is just one part of society, so they were correct in the first place, just less precise.

What's the difference between "society" and "sooociiiety" anyways?

Humm...I don't know. I'm an adult only in terms of the number in the age column. I don't think it's possible for me to ever grow up.

I've never really held to it as some sort of border. I've never once stopped doing something because it was childish. there have been things I've stopped enjoying, and some of those things were childish, but that wasn't a factor in why I stopped doing it.

Growing up, adult, it's all an abstraction, a belief that the physical body has some sort of governing right over our personality and who we are. :)

I own a business where I basically get to play with animals all day. That kinda tells you how much I've grown up.

There's also the fact that I still play with trains. :)

Setimes I get out my old G.I. Joe doll and pretend it's me and I get like a dozen barbies, undress them, and cover them all in whipped cream.

Does that count?

I was never very childish when I was young. I spent most of my time around adults, and rarely around peers my own age. The only real problem with that is that it made my adult personality quite schizoid. All that aside, I feel that using the term 'childish', as I hear it brandied about, almost angers me. It usually is uttered by someone with a massive stick up their ass, either as normal or for a specific situation. Nearly exclusively its tone is derogatory. I have to ask, what is so wrong with being childish. I do not believe for one instant that being prim and proper every second of your life is healthy, let alone the right thing to do. Be childish if you want. Its refreshing and makes you happy, right? Then do it! :)
