the corporatocracy wants people to think of creative things as childish because people without imagination are more easily bored and thus exploitable and dependent on their propiganda subtexted entertainment. also they are thus never satisfied and actually spend rediculous amouts of the symbolic value they've been conned into slaving for on the most inneffective means of persuing happiness such as emparing their judgement with recreational substances, most of which are kept unlawful to increase their profitability.
the real problem then becomes what gets defined as "childish" and what doesn't.
much of the dominant culture's 'norms' could well be defined as "childish by any rational standards.
whereas creative expression, along with exploration, are the real, and ultimately only, sources of real gratification.
nor is it 'childish' to attempt to illustrate what could be, that could create and be part of a more universally gratifying world.
of course, many persuits which have that potential, are often persuid as ends in themselves, because they also, being as how creativity is envolved, are pathways to real gratification and happiness.
they don't make anyone more or less mature, only mindfulness can do that.
culture only succeeds in making them childish when the become an all consuming alternative to mindfulness.
but when they become an instrument OF mindfulness, then the dark conspiracy of corpocratic usurpation of political process stands a real chance of being defeated.
thus we have entertainment that glorifies mindLESSness and depicts empared judgement and consuming of entertainment itself, as somehow more mature then more creative, exploratory, and thus more genuinely gratifying activities.
