From what I heard EOD dismantled them, but then again I don't fully trust news sources right now.

How on earth is he implying that? The former FBI agent on MSNBC right now (Clint Van Zandt) has said these events are targets for terrorism. It's not saying anything what you're assuming.

Police tweeted that they don't think it was a bomb a couple of minutes ago.

But Chris Matthews on MSNBC just floated the idea that maybe this was a right-wing extremist group given that today is tax day?

Keep in mind, Boston is a large city. They're still trying to figure things out. The only official thing is the words that comes out from the Commissioner's mouth.
