I know. And when he gets upgraded to You Can Interrogate Him Now status(a real medical thing[/notadoctor]), they're going to interrogate him without reading him his Miranda rights under the public safety exception.
He still has the right to remain silent, and the right to have an attorney present during questioning, and will be provided with an attorney if he cannot afford one of his own. They're just not going to tell him that, at least not right away, because he might have more bombs around and finding them is rather important, lest they blow more people up.
