So the tobacco industry doesn't make jobs? Regardless, you're okay with one form of what you define as "killing the children and the elderly" and not "another"?

Have you ever heard of the term known as: the green death?

The only mention of this I can find is a Doctor Who episode.

Alright it may not be called the green death, (which is a mistake on my part I thereby apologise)
However this is it: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/unre ... /episode-4

Unsafe and inhumane working conditions are present in numerous industries in numerous developing nations.

This all, while considered bad, is good for the long-term development of the nation's economy.

Then be more specific. And I'm sure as HELL that industries that pollute do a lot worse when unregulated. Example: Beijing, China. A lot worse than Tobacco pollution.

Well, yes. I mean, it's a horrible thing, and it doesn't bode well for that generation, or even the next few, but in terms of the economic growth of the nation, these things are a net gain. That is, however, assuming there isn't corporate meddling in the local economy for Bad Things. Which is, sadly, still common.

The key word in your statement is: unregulated
Surely Canada, Britain, Germany, Japan, America, Australia, etc. have large industries, but they have what we call regulations.

But those countries in which the products are made often do not.

And yes it is but what about the regulated economies? How much worse is their pollution from tobacco?

That's a little bit extreme, if they want to kill themselves through the slow means of cancer and lots of other diseases that are an indirect and directly as a result of smoking, then as the song says, let it be... (As long as they do not drag anyone else own with them, i.e. Children, the elderly, etc.)

2nd hand smoke being the main cause of death in anyone is an insane proposal. Hell, I'm still alive, and I've lived in a household of smokers my entire life. The only severe illnesses I've ever gotten were my own damn fault. Your industries do more to kill me than people smoking near me.

I think we need to build a facility somewhere... and then deport all the known smokers there... force them to quit and stuff... Smoker Island it should be called.

We should also get cops out there and get rid of all the smokes... outright prohibition. This time we'll get it right... so long as we use all the latest surveillance tech, lots of informants, and build a few special units.

We've been playing too nice with this smoker problem for too long...
