No matter how many times we preface it by saying that "sexims is really a socially instituted construct, and women just aren't the dominant sex, but women can totally be biased" that's not good enough. It's not good enough to go "we can ALL admit that women can be individually biased on the basis of gender, and nobody's arguing with you there, but in academia it's important to distinguish individual bias from social bias and the "isms" have generally come to be understood as SOCIETAL bias, as opposed to individual" that's still not good enough. It's not good enough to all agree that individual bias exists and leave it at that. This side wants to plant their feet in the sand, and refuse to let the conversation actually move on, screaming "No, not good enough, say women can be sexist! Say it. My point is that I perceived his instance wrong, and I am admitting to my mistake in general, I admit, my definition of sexism is wrong. However, that doesn't mean women cannot discriminate for any type of reason. That's just stupid to assume, since women are as capable of discriminating as men are.

These are not talks on men's equality. These are talks by anti feminist groups who hate women at their core. A pro rape, anti female, hate group was invited to the campus and these brave protestors confronted them.

I'm proud of the protesters for effectively shutting down the misogynists and letting them know that they are unwelcome on their campus.

Effectively shutting them down by pulling the fire alarm.

That's not "shutting them down," that's oppressing them, which, at its core, is the very thing the Feminist movement is trying to stop. You don't claim to be a feminist, and then suppress the opinions of others through idiotic ways out of your own misandry.

In essence, by silencing these men, the women have been doing to them, what had been done to them, before the feminist movement gained popularity.

Confronting oppressors is what the feminist movement is trying to stop? Nope.
Are they being stopped because feminists hate men? Nope. Not all men are scum like that.

It discredits it hard. Especially when you look across similar events and realize "moderate" feminists are continuosly defending the actions of the crazies.
