As someone who has been paid as a consultant, No offense but, you're doing it wrong. First, you need to establish trust with your client. Your client should see you as an expert in the field you're consulting them on. Second, you've got to offer something of value to your client, ideally you should demonstrate both the problem and a range of solutions that will allow the client to choose the right option in a way that reflects their desires.

There is no end of people giving advice. Everyone wants to be a critic.

The number of people giving valuable, wanted advice however is very small and they tend to be highly valued.

I personally am for the equality of all people regardless of gender, race, culture or sexual preference and if this group is even remotely for equality, they are sure going about it the wrong way by trying to shut down anyone who doesn't happen to be in line with their ideals.
