You know what else heterosexual couples can do that homosexual couples can't? Have an accidental pregnancy.
If a same-sex couple wants to have a child then they have to jump through hoops either for an adoption, or for a medical procedure, meaning that any child that they get is one that they WANT, there will never be a same-sex couple taking care of an unloved child.
Sadly the same cannot be said for heterosexual couples.
