People watch this... drama queen... whose acting skills could only be rivalled by Jenny McCarthy as something other than already a parody? To think Obama gave people here hope of a cultural improvement.

Dont worry, the number of people who'll admit to agreeing with them is shrinking daily, :)

Uhm, those elections and referenda you just had would seem to contradict you.

How is there even a connection?

I mean, politically, there was no swing to Beck-like views:

Two governor elections (which are largely irrelevant to actual politics) went to the Republicans, but one Democrat Representative gained a huge margin, and another took a seat held by Republicans since the middle of the 19th century.

The Maine vote followed the same trend as 30-something votes before it - but was a narrow margin. Which is actually an improvement.

There may be a swing towards the kind of Conservatism that Beck espouses, but the recent elections didn't reflect it.

You answered your own question. While thinking you were contradicting me, you weren't, which is amusing. And, yes, in the vein of 30 whatever referenda before it. Showing that not much has changed. So, in that respect you are right. There was no "swing back". Because you can't swing back to where you've been all the time.

I was explaining the nuances of American politics to an outsider.

Take that as contradiction if you wish.

Some would argue it's a one-party system, and that the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is 'nuance'.

Yea, Beck's a douche.
