Sorry. Just showing my enthusiasm. I am a neophyte to the gay cause and you know what they say about new converts, they sometimes are the most fanatic.

And that's just countries where homosexual acts are explicitly illegal. So called 'honour killings' of homosexual relatives have gone on in multiple countries where it is legal, and discrimination against homosexuals is still rampant even in more western societies.

Same sex marriage is fast becoming a red herring.

Lyassa and Nairoa becoming pro gay marriage is obviously a sign of the end times.

The rumors of the end times have been greatly exaggerated.

Well, don't move to Uruguay then. Those Middle Eastern countries still sentence gays to the death penalty. Maybe you'll like it there.

It is no such thing. It´s the way I express myself.
Let me tell you something...
I was walking down the street one of these days and I saw a gay (male) couple holding hands. They didn´t care about what people might think, and neither did passers-by. Two foreign-looking women happened to turn the corner to that very street, one of them whispered something to the other and they immediately held hands too.
What did I see ? People in love. Gay people in love. There´s more and more of them each passing day. I mean, coming out and showing no fear. They´re queer, they´re here, and I´m dealing with it one day at a time. Should I be crucified for (slowly) changing my views too ?

Uruguay's Roman Catholic Church asked lawmakers to vote their conscience

These bits.

Whereas some other countries have carved out new territory for gay and lesbian couples without affecting heterosexual marrieds, Uruguay is creating a single set of rules for all people, gay or straight. Instead of the words "husband and wife" in marriage contracts, it refers to the gender-neutral "contracting parties."

Among them: gay and lesbian foreigners will now be allowed to come to Uruguay to marry, just as heterosexual couples can, said Michelle Suarez of the Black Sheep Collective.

undergo in-vitro fertilization procedures.

Those are the parts I like, personally. I want the same set of rules for heterosexuals and homosexual in my own state, really. I don't see who the same laws can't apply to a homosexual couple as to the ones that apply now to me and my wife. It makes no logical sense to have two sets of rules.
Such heroic nonsense!

Well, of course not. It's just that the tone of your precedent messages seemed quite sarcastic. Good to know it, anyways.

Good to see another country supporting freedom in this area.

Hopefully my country (USA) will follow their good example in time.

I believed it passed the senate, now the houses spend some time navel gazing, then it goes to the final vote in the other house before it becomes law. To date all the commentators seem to say it'll pass and is on track to become law.

I had been hoping the Roman Catholic Church would release a statement that consisted of "that's not what we meant!". It would have been amusing.
