I guess it varies from case to case. If she/he is just beginning to transform it's probably less gay. With trans people you have a rare situation were someone isn't fully male or female and it depends were on that woman-male scale he/she is positioned. But at least you know she/he was born a female.

A woman with a hysterectomy is still a woman, ergo it's not gay to date one.
