But they are the opposite sex. The reason for the surgeries is to make them the opposite sex, just as they believed they were supposed to be.

You don't have to have SRS to change your gender. Changing how you dress and how you perceive yourself changes your gender. Changing your physical and hormonal attributes changes your sex.

Yes but you won't be 100% truly the opposite sex. Even if it was possible I still wouldn't date one. Sure they will truly be the opposite sex but I don't roll that way. I will only date an original. But I don't hate them like you hate immigrants and people of other races. You me sick. I am done talking to a fucking bigot like you.

Ironically enough I was born and raised in an immigrant family and am pro-immigrant.

I was merely using immigrants as an example of how you perceive transgendered individuals. The fact you got so offended may be an indicator that transgendered individuals find your opinions similarly offensive.

"Why not both?"

There's nothing wrong with falling in love with both someone's physical shell and ephemeral form.

I can't really be sure if I would date a transexual. If I knew, though, I doubt I would. Just creeps me out in an irrational way.

I don't know if I would consider being attracted to someone the same as falling in love. If the shell was the same, but the personality was completely different, would you still love them?
Just my opinion, of course

The way her eyes dance when she laughs, the way her hair hangs just so, the small stutter in her step when she feels "out of rhythm"...

You can fall in love with someone's physical attributes, because what they are is just as much a part of the being as who they are. It's not shallow, it's just...recognizing beauty where it is.

ah hell, I'm screwed then :P

I never used the word shallow, I guess I just prioritize personality above looks. Everyone is different

Oh no, I'm not saying you're accusing me of being shallow, but many will.

It's all a matter of perspective, and if I said "Huge tits, great ass, and looooong legs" it'd come out MUCH more shallow.

I guess it's the person as a whole, is what you're trying to get at. The pieces that make her HER.

Well, were a MtF-Post Op to demonstrate interest in dating me (the sea cucumber does not appeal to this one), I would be consciously and unconsciously measuring her quirks. If she smiled, did she do so in a manner that showed friendliness? How did her eyes assist her speech? Was she comfortable in using her hands? Were her shoulders open and inviting, or was she closed off and defensive? Did she have any definite mannerisms? Any tics? Was what she was saying matching with how she was saying it?

That kind of stuff.
