I thought you were talking about Thatcherism, her homicidal socio-economic policy, which is still very much with us.
The Tory party (a majority of whose parties voted against the gay marriage bill when it came to the fore a while ago; it was the first bill in a while that was basically voted through by the opposition, not the government) won't actually call you out for being gay these days, they'd just demonise you if you were unemployed.
The Tory Party is still very much Thatcher's Party, just with slightly less of an anti-gay tendency and far more subtle racism towards Bulgarians and Romanians.
This part is particularly confusing to me because I can never for the love of God see what's so wrong about Bulgarians and Romanians.
I never see why racists tend to point these two particular ethnicities out as opposed to all the others.

Cos they'll soon be part of the EU and, obviously, billions of them will come over here with the intention of taking our jobs, wives and precious metals.

Nah, he was a Byzantine knight who was martyred by the Emperor for being Christian, nothing more.
303 is a bit too early to be called 'Byzantine' to be honest.
Also I'd say that standing up to the most powerful man on the planet, and surviving various execution attempts, all for what he believed was right, makes him a hero... or at least heroic.

They already are part of the EU, you mean.
Anyway, there aren't enough of them to outnumber you all even if ALL of them move to the UK, which they won't.

Hero? Maybe. Worthy of being the Patron Saint of England? Certainly not, I'd reserve that for someone who actually visited England.
