I don't think you're very good at this, at all really.

I don't know. Once science uncovers exactly what makes your brain tick in every detail, such that there is no more mystery left in why you do anything you do, will you no longer be "life?"

well we will see when that day comes, but say you make an AI with feelings and it understands them, what if one day it wants to have a baby? what would you tell it?

Er, it can be both. Technology and alive.

(Why don't you capitalise properly?)

Let it find out how to make one, then. I'm sure it could ind a way, really. If it wants an equal, who are we to deny it?

You're nothing more than a chemical machine? What makes that more alive then a electrical one?

ok, but it would need a body in order to reproduce, or you could always program a child for it. :meh:

Er. All matter is chemical.
And the human nervous system uses electrical signals to transmit information.

So people with prosthetics are less of a person than people without prosthetics?

We already went over this. My definitions of what people and person and alive is all biological not the ethical or philosophical ones. What do you hope to achieve by continuing the argument ?

Inb4 someone asks what the biological definition is, it is attributed to humans.

Call me a bad person, but I don't believe in an AI's right to live.

I think living is more of a privilege.

You made that up completely.
Personhood is not a biological concept.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Person

Show me one example where personhood has been attributed to a non-biological or non human entity. This is beating a dead horse.
