Oh, for the love of... fine, since you're apparently unwilling to look up what that word actually means, I did it for you.

Yes, there is. It is still a human, that has committed no crime in order to warrant it's destruction.

"Human" is meaningless to me. If a goldfish was sapient, I would gladly converse with it. If pigs developed philosophy, I would cease to eat bacon.

The specific make up of your genetic code does not give you worth; your self-aware, subjective experience does.

What something can 'develop into' is beyond irrelevant.

For instance, consider this:

Someone owns a house. Suddenly, overnight, someone builds ANOTHER house one their front lawn without permission, with a note on it saying 'Moving in in 9 months, maybe'. No rational person would have a moral dilemma in deciding to demolish the house right then and there, because nobody fucking lives there yet and it's an inconceivable. You're not hurting anybody, not until someone's around to understand they are being bulldozed.

Analogies don't work for this. It'd be more accurate to say someone decides they want to build a house inside of your vagina and you don't get to say "No, thanks."

Saying "No thanks" to unprotected sex (which could potentially result in impregnation) is something responsible you could do.

I like these pro-life agents, because, "Hey I like fetuses, fetuses are people, I also like steak and the militairy, chyeah, and Jesus, that pretty sums me up."

But for real, no woman likes to get an abortion, but she should have the right to have one, otherwise you wouldn't dare to imagine what she could do.
eg. Go to an unsanitised "operating room" with a "doctor" who printed his diploma from an online university.

Common enough to be a concern.

Also, why an exception? Either a fetus is an independent, sapient organism, or it isn't. Pick one.

The pill has an ~8% failure rate. So out of every thousand women using it alone, 80 end up pregnant.

Regardless, I imagine abortion recipients who've cited birth control failure as their reason for killing off their foetuses are in the minority.

Also, why an exception? Either a fetus is an independent, sapient organism, or it isn't. Pick one.

With rape victims, it is an issue with consent; they did not consent to the intercourse. I will say, however, that continuing on with a pregnancy which resulted from rape is a very admirable thing to do. After all, it's not the child's fault.

But - following your viewpoint - the fetus hasn't committed a crime, and so abortion = murder. But in this one instance, you're prepared to sanction murder to prevent a woman from experiencing "inconvenience".

Therefore, by believing that there should be an exception to anti-abortion laws for rape and only for rape, you're a hypocrite. Either abortion is murder - and therefore just about the worst crime that can be committed - or it is not. You don't get to pick and choose based on how the fetus came into existence - that doesn't change what it is.

What is Birth Control Failure, for a thousand?

How often does that happen, honestly?

Judging by your presence, at least once.

More seriously, the most common birth control methods have failure rates between 5 and 20%.

Female condoms ("diaphragm"): 21%.
Male condoms: 15%.
Contraceptive patch: 8%.
POP (the "minipill"): 8%.

Birth control failure is actually rather common, you know.
Fuck it all. Let the world burn - there's no way roaches could do a worse job of being decent than we have.

Foetus is not human by definition.
Human is defined as "a man, woman, or child of the species Homo sapiens, distinguished from other animals by superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance".
- Foetus is neither a man, woman nor a child.

Being irriligious and "pro-life" is just so very wrong, because religion is the only (failed) argument against abortion.

It only becomes human after sentience.

Being human isn't special.

Being sapient is special.

Then what is the point of bringing up anyone's rights? If being a human isn't special, why should I care about anyone having a pregnancy against their will?
