I honestly don't think the US government is all that corrupt. There is corruption, certainly, and dubious ways of doing things but if you want a corrupt government where nothing happens without money changing hands, I refer you to Africa or the Middle East.

Well thats what Im saying, its corrupt, but not nearly to the point of some of its competitors...

I actually like lobbyists quite a bit. I don't like money in politics.

I'm not fond of lobbyists, either. I think there ought to be restrictions on movement from government to lobbying, for instance.

I agree, I thought it was pretty shitty how Trent Lott immediately went from Senator to Lobbyist, even going so far as to strategically place his retirement so he could do it sooner...

If you get your news from CNN, Fox, Msnbc or any other major news station then of course your going to think that i'm crazy cause they're bought off by the parties and as far as that stuff being a fact of democracy, well why settle for that and by the way we are a REUBLIC. And for you who said I don't the constituion, I'm pretty sure that I know my rights and that when the goverment starts talking about taking any of them away I get just a little concerned and maybe you should to instead of always playing your video games, research on your own on the Internet, Look up Alex Jones, you'll see what i'm talking about, and no, he's not crazy and I don't do meth and yes I do like beer

First of all, define "Tyranny". The only point in history in which I would refer to the U.S. Government as truly Tyrannical is during the Red Scare. Since then, it's been, well, Exploitative. Not Soviet Russia, nor a Fascist state, but certainly not ideal either. I see Government and Corporate power as two equal evils, but that's my idealistic, Anarchist side. My "Practical" goes along with "Fuck it, change is damn near impossible. Might as well run with the system and at least try to improve it, if we had the ability to".

Yes Someone did tell me to stop doing meth. And as far as rights go, look at what the goverment is trying to do to the second amendment, there trying to take away handguns for god sakes, it dosen't say that we can have the right to bear arms except handguns now does it. We have that right so when a goverment does become abusive of its power we the power to over through it, look at all the nations in history who lost there rights to arms, there was mass genocide.

They're taking them away...by allowing you to carry them onto State Parks? If that was truly their goal, I would seriously question their sanity...

I'm not asking for a confession from the Government, I'm asking for some solid evidence as to its Tyranny.

Why are Guns more important than, say, free speech? Now, I'm in favor of the right to bear arms and all, but mostly on a basis of need. i.e., if you live in a shitty, crime-rampant neighborhood, get a 9-mil. If you hunt for a living, get a 30.06. But then again, you can get them on the basis of your own amusement. I must admit, firing guns are fucking fun.

Because without the right to bear arms they don't have to listen to you cause if they got the guns and you don't i'm sure you're really going to stand up to the goverment.
