Fixed. Remember Worcester v. Georgia?

I'd argue the current people in charge of the insurance companies are the death panels.

Sure it's technically defined, but it gets thrown around so much, it's almost the equivilent of hot or big or bad or any of those vague, non-universally accepted terms.

You mean "hot" that can be used to describe both warmth or attractiveness?

Or "bad" that can mean both the opposite of good and good?

No, more like a guy who's lived in Northern Canada for fifty years might think something is hot, while a guy who's lived sixty years in Africa might not think it's as hot, but rather lukewarm.

Or like how some people see abortion as "bad" while others see it as "rational" or in some cases "good."

Something like that, I fucking suck at analogies and examples, forgive me--you comprehend the main point right?

Meh. I'm alright with government. Sometimes awful policies get put in place (warrantless wiretapping, for instance) but that doesn't make me want to overthrow the whole thing. That seems like overkill.

i like the government.

They have these cool remote-controlled arms now. I react very slowly, but I've got a lot of people covered under this system. :)

Your first analogy was apt; your second one not so much. You're saying that something like tyranny is relative to a person's experiences. A single action can be both more tyrannical in an open society and less tyrannical in a closed society. The law saying that women must cover their bodies but not their face would be an increase in tyranny in the US and a decrease in tyranny in Saudi Arabia, for example.

I hadn't thought of that. Could be. As the Creationists like to say, Anything is possible.

Well, I don't exactly know about tyranny, but corruption and big government are getting out of hand.
I believe Bush was probably the worst thing to happen to the U.S. so far, even if he did keep us safe.
I also believe Obama is just as bad, if not worse.

Hmm... that's always a possibility. In that case I'm all for it. I mean, tyranny ought to be fought. We must liberate the poor Ameicans!

I honestly don't think the US government is all that corrupt. There is corruption, certainly, and dubious ways of doing things but if you want a corrupt government where nothing happens without money changing hands, I refer you to Africa or the Middle East.

Well thats what Im saying, its corrupt, but not nearly to the point of some of its competitors...

Basically, I dislike lobbyists, :p

I'm not fond of lobbyists, either. I think there ought to be restrictions on movement from government to lobbying, for instance.
