How to respond to racism?

Hello NS. I'm sick and tired of people calling me the N word and being absolute jerks. And I wanted to know how you folks respond to racism? And how should i respond to a racist? Because NSers are probably the most clever group of people ive ever seen, and priceless intelligent (and sometimes hilarious) response after another has me asking you how can i shut the mouth of a racist with an awesome NSer-type response? Any tips?

People are seriously calling you a n***er? Are you in the US?

As for the actual OP, I've been called a kike before. I slammed the guy who said its head against a table 6 or 7 times. I would NOT recommend doing this. It's much more trouble than its worth.

I suggest contacting any authority figures if this is occurring in a school or professional setting.

I punched someone in the face once. I don't suggest doing that. People have been racist to me so many times I just ignore it now. Unfortunately I've found that that is all one really can do without looking like the bad guy, enforcing said stereotypes or just plain being a moron.

It would depend on the situation and place. Where I live everyone is "racist". All races make racist jokes about themselves and others and everyone just laughs and jokes back.

With regard to the underlined: We have a few fairly intelligent users, and I'm not trying to diss the general community but...uh....no.

With regard to the question: I've had it come my way a few times. I either ignore it, or laugh (strange defence mechanism of mine; helps me feel more comfortable in tense situations) and go about my day.

This is one of my favorite things about bully threads. The kids who act like they did crazy things in the name of justice, even though we all know the only place you did that was in your head. Ahhh the internet. Such a wonderful place.
