My Best Bowling was 4-3, although I did once take 3-0 off seven balls including a hat trick to wrap up the innings.

My High Score batting is 4*

You can guess what I do.

Freddie Flintoff has taken his 31st (EDIT: and now 32nd) senior Twenty20 wicket(s), and his first in five years.

Mitchell Marsh (previous career best 111) and Doncaster, Yorkshire-born Sam Whiteman (previous career best 96) have put on an Australian first-class record 371 runs (Marsh 211, Whiteman 174) for the seventh wicket (highest in Aus FC history) to save Australia A from 99/6 against India A.

So, I'm no expert on pitches, but surely English grounds shouldn't be this flat/slow?

I heard Kevin Pieterson was complaining about something the groundsmen have done to the English pitches to allow the grounds to drain quicker after rain, which ended up changing the character of the pitches...

I guess that would make sense, but as I say, I'm no expert.

In other news - Ian Bell, what a catch that is.

Anyone know the difference between left and right handed batting pads?

good show by vijay. for a supposedly 't20 specialist' - he does better in tests, compared to odi and ipl :lol2:

pujara looked good while he lasted. dhoni, as i said before, has become a much better test batsman - even with his limited technique. he won't be pretty, but he manages to stay and score nowadays in foreign pitches.

happy that it was not a 200 all out, as first day of first test usually is, for india.

The tibia protection, apparently. At least, that's what Google says.

The longer side of the padding will be on a different side to protect you're leg from the ball otherwise you'd be exposed wearing the wrong type of padding. As a left-hander myself, it initially baffled me as to why I needed different pads, but it all makes sense now.

I'm a rightie and took a gamble on right handed pads. Gamble paid off, it seems.

The ECB and BCCI have presumably entered into a secret agreement to secure a 0-0 run-fest draw by preparing dead pitches, just so no ones feelings get hurt.
This is the IC re-incarnation of Cyborg Holland. Add 2971 posts and three RWC final losses.

Prior has missed that by a country mile. How India can be allowed to play without DRS, when everyone else uses the system, is beyond me.

i personally don't think that hawkeye predictions of ball path is reliable on lbw's. snicko and hotspot look good.

i also think that technology should only be used for reversing howlers , like that horrible decision to Prior.

it should not be used per the current system where a team gets two decisions wrong, then they cannot appeal any horrible decisions later. OTOH, if you allow all decisions to be reviewed, then there would be no end to this appealing.

BCCI, i think, is against DRS - mainly because its tech is currently offered by only one company (true?) and the costs involved? maybe if an indian company offers the same thing, preferably with a BCCI big wig in its board  :lol2:

Andrew Flintoff is now batting for Lancashire.

And he's out for 1 off 4 balls, lbw.

After Tino Best, and then Ashton Agar, I had a feeling that come English summer 2014, another new 10th wicket record would be set. I didn't imagine it would be England doing it, though.

Nearing the 200 stand for the last wicket. There have only been 12 first-class 200+ stands for the 10th wicket in history.

Ended agonisingly on 198…

Speechless. This match is why Test cricket is brilliant.

No, it was the worst of Test cricket. A horrible, horrible pitch that never offered a result and produced some of the most boring Test cricket ever.

Incredibly, it probably will. It's the kind of thing they need to lift spirits after a hard slog in the field!
