Ah!!! Two balls from a record. Ah well, let's call this a warmup to the Indian series where we'll learn from our mistakes...

EDIT: Warmup, even.

@Aryavartha: What's the mood of India fans in regards to the England tour? Are they confident, do they think they'll win?

they've been bitten once - in the last tour when the expectations were high and the team had form (test no.1 and the world cup) going in - and ended up with whitewash :palm:

cautious is probably the best word to sum up the mood.

the team did recover somewhat from whitewashes in eng, aus, home loss to eng. they did good in SA (considering our previous record there) and were good in some sessions in NZ (lost badly in other sessions).

its a new look team with only MS, gambhir and ishant having played in eng before. for the life of me, i can't understand why ishant keeps getting picked. as useless as indian "quickies" tend to be, this one is the worst of i've seen.

In three overs against Leicestershire, probably the worst county around, Ishant Sharma has figures of 3-0-36-0...

indian openers are on shaky form. dhawan and vijay need to get back to form. both are suspect against moving ball...so i have not high hopes.

my hopes are on kohli, pujara and rahane - decent tech and application for the long form, especially pujara. dhoni has become a better test bat than before.

bowling as usual is toothless and is prone to let opponent batsmen run away again and again, even after tight situations.

I'm in Sri Lanka and I'm desperately trying to find somewhere where I can watch the match!

ESPN Star have the rights in India - not sure about SL. Cricket Australia are live streaming it on their website (but it may be geo-blocked?) Lords.org will have radio coverage, with commentators Kevin Hand, David Townsend (of BBC London's Middlesex coverage) and Mark Church (of BBC London's Surrey coverage) with analysts Gus Fraser and Ebony Rainford-Brent.

I'm in a hotel which has Star Sports 4, which I believe is an Indian stream, but you'd think it would be on a more important channel considering Sachin is playing. I'm going to try and find a sports bar or something where I can watch the World Cup tonight, so I might enquire as to whether they're showing the game at all.

You'd be surprised. English on Star Sports 4 with a build up show at 2pm India time.

Rest of the World reduced to 54/2 from 54/0 after Lee bowls Sehwag through the gate and Gilchrist is stumped by Read off Ajmal.

Bit of a collapse for the RoW side, 59/3 now. Pietersen and Yuvraj at the crease.

EDIT: 68/4, another stumping off Ajmal. Pietersen gone. Ajmal too good. Could be 120 all out here.
EDIT: 68/5, Ajmal has four. This could be over quickly.

After all of Warne's criticism of him, Ali Cook must be licking his lips.

I can picture it: Cook coming out with a tirade about Warne's rubbish captaincy. Just trollin'.

Sachin is on to bowl.

EDIT: Rest of the World recover from 68/5 to post 293/7. 294 will be a difficult chase, although it might make things easier that Shane Warne has a suspected broken hand sustained from a Brett Lee beamer and will not bowl or field. Shaun Pollock will act as 12th man.

First game of my own for three years. Returned bowling figures of 5-1-0-24 and a 4 ball 0*.

That's probably my best economy rate ever, and definitely my first maiden. I'll take that.

Andrew Flintoff is in the Lancashire XI to play Worcestershire today. One over left, doesn't look like he'll get a bat. High scoring game so we'll see if he bowls.
