As far as I'm concerned, there is basically world peace at the moment, since there are no serious wars going on. However, I assume that you by world peace refer to a state where there's not even any minor conflict such as the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq taking place. If media claimed that not even such trivial conflicts were taking place, I would probably not believe it.
