Yes, he was the most decorated US soldier in WWII and went on to become a film star, mainly in westerns.

He's buried at Arlington too.

Audie Murphy is an African American comedian. He has starred in many famous movies, such as 'that one with Dan Akroyd where they switch places' and 'that other one where he played that foreign leader or something'. In his old age he has focused on family movies like 'The Ghost-Inhabited Villa' by Disney and gave his voice to the dragon in moolan.

Kind of already spoiled the good stuff, I think he was later charged and/or convicted of child molestation.

As I recall (I don't recall where I read this), he was so badass that when he starred in a film as himself, they actually had to tone it down for fear that people would think that they had to be exaggerating.

I think he wanted to know if we knew Audie Murphy off the cuff, not how quickly we can type 'Audie Murphy' into wiki and copy-paste what came up.

He was the third reincarnation of Andrew Jackson, after Teddy Roosevelt, and the first not to be elected president.

I believe he also wrote music which was used by Dean Martin and Charley Pride.

He also supported the democratic party. Does that make him a socialist! ;)

If not an outright traitor. I mean, a decorated soldier, supporting them?

The most highly decorated US Army superninjas of WWII. Despite the fact that recieved a battlefield promotion to Lieutenant and eventually became a Major, recognition board for NCOs was established in his honor.
Your faith does not amuse me. Fundamentalism is a singularly unfunny disposition- A Rightist Puppet

In short, "fascist" is a modern word for "heretic," branding an individual worthy of excommunication from the body politic. The right uses otherwords ("reverse-racist," "feminazi," "unamerican," "communist") for similiar purposes, but these words have less elastic meanings. Fascism, however, is the gift that keeps on giving. - Jonah Goldberg, revisited.

Yes, first heard about him when watching a WWII film that he starred in and then got told his history by my dad.

Even have a photo of his tombstone when we were in Washington D.C

I saw "To Hell and Back", so that's how I knew about his military service (as a side note, he played himself in the movie).
