My point stands, surely? How long have we had hybrids on the road?
To live in England for the pleasures of social intercourse - that would be like searching for flowers in a sandy desert. ~ Nikolai Karamzin

The English think very highly of their own humanity; I am willing to admit they are not inhuman... ~ Louis Simond

The people of England choose to be, in a great measure, without Law and without Police; they have reached a very distinguished point in industry and civilisation without them. ~ Morning Chronicle

Regardless, has there been a large market for them?

You know what I find amusing about Hybrids: They cause more damage than what they save in fuel. And they are a complete waste. A turbo diesel car can get far better gas mileage than any hybrid can dream of. My V6 Fusion managed 30mpg on the highway, which is plenty. My 3.0 V6 Chrysler gets about 27mpg, which is also plenty.

This, regardless of what has been said for Ford. I used to drive a Ford that was hardly dependable. My best friend drives a Focus that she calls "the Fuckus."

Until Ford, Chevy, and GM convince me that they are capable of making quality, safe cars with little environmental impact, I will continue to buy Japanese, thank you very much.

It's not the 90s here, American quality is very good, my father ( among other cars he has ), has managed to put 113,000 miles on a 300C SRT 8, not a single problem.

Hell, my 95 Lebaron Convertible never has never had an issue, until I put the wrong fluid in it and destroyed the transmission ( whoops )

And at least fords don't run the risk of the accelerator getting stuck if you install the floormat incorrectly.

2009 Ford Fusion hybrid. Look it up. Reliable, and better mpg than the Toyota Camry hybrid.

I don't really like the idea of a Camry hybrid for some reason...? I'll admit that the Fusion looks good, but I'm not ready to put my safety in the hands of Ford yet. Ford scarred my childhood. >.>

I'm not just concerned about accidents. I'm concerned about being left on the side of a road, which happened often with my Taurus, or my transmission dying, or my sealants wearing away, which also occurred.

My Taurus is an amazing machine that has not broken down once in 106,000 miles.
