Correct, given that you can't blame atheism for anything, it's not a movement or a collection of people. It'd be the equivalent of blaming non-believers of Big Foot for the upcoming WW3 (which will, obviously, be a war of the titans between Sealand and Seychelles).

so dont you think it will make more sense if people see the religion for what it contains and not for the extreme people using it to do harm? because if a government is used to define a particular religion then that is ignorance

I know English isn't your first language, but no.

I was merely pointing out that atheism can't be blamed, as it is not a doctrine. It is not an equal opposite to theism, only the rejection of theism.

Atheists can be blamed for all sorts of things. Hell, just a few posts ago I blamed Nilfgaard for lacking nuance and being condescending.

So are we. Though we recognize the merits of religion as a method to power.

Religion has been used for extremist purposes and there's no reason to ignore that, just like there's no reason to ignore everything else concerning religion.

ok that make sense, but also it makes sense for someone to not blame a religion if oppresers are not following what their religion says

Unfortunately religion lacks a mechanism for self-correction, and indeed opposes self-correction on principal (because all modern religions insist upon faith - the maintenance of belief even when it appears to contradict reality), which means that anyone's interpretation of a religion is more-or-less as valid as anyone else's.
