I'm unable to take North Korea seriously so the answer would be no.

There's a difference between joint military exercises with another nation and saying "I'm gonna nuke you to oblivion!"

I'm not talking about clearly toothless threats. DPRK is great at those, much better than the US in fact...

I'm talking about actual actions. The DPRK has engaged in hostile military action... oh a couple tiny times against the South (sinking a fishing boat here and there, etc)...

The US has intervened or invaded other countries without provocation how many times? Just sayin'. We don't threaten to bomb the innocent populations of foreign countries that offer no real threat to our national security whatsoever... we just do it.

Its north Korea... so no.
Words "North Korea" and "Seriously" doesn't belong in same sentence without word "Not" in same sentence.

I'm trying to, but I find myself unable to. I do hope they try to launch a nuclear missile, considering the mixed results of their first half a dozen attempts. I think they have a better chance of hitting Pyongyang than they do of hitting Seoul, let alone the United States. In addition, a man who had fled the country by boat once said North Korea's navy spends a lot of time sailing because of fuel shortages. North Korea has fuel shortages, food shortages, electricity shortages and old military equipment that's barely working anymore, and it hasn't even attacked yet.

No.

North Korea is basically those kids in the Nerf fight who have the cheap dollar store knock-offs that fires like one at a time and has to be reloaded every time and everyone else has one of those Nerf guns that fire like 30 at a time and can hold like 150 darts or whatever.

Well, everyone can say no now, and that's fine.

But what if they DID do what they say the would do and we weren't proactive based on their threats?

But North Korea is basically the most isolated country in the world and the USA has giant military bases right under them, how much more proactive could we really be?

Not really.

Their political elite is simply doing what every politician does when there are problems at home they don't want to deal with (such as people starving and freezing), they focus on an external "enemy".

Nothing much ever comes of it, the only two countries where such re-focusing is actually worrying and scary when it happens are the US and Israel.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

More stupid than when they pro-actively went to look for WMD in Iraq?

No, but you can use bunker busters on them.

Or better yet. Nuclear bunker busters.

War will likely only start through American aggression. North Korea's leadership is well aware that such a war would be quite suicidal, especially for them, and detrimental towards all of Korea. South Korea wouldn't start it as it'd greatly hurt their economy and the global world economy, as well as war inevitably causing numerous civilian deaths. There would also be the problem of trying to integrate North Korea into the South in the case of reunification.

No, I'm pretty sure you were right in that. North and South Korea were technically at war before this statement, and they are still technically at war. South Korea never signed the ceasefire either.

So, Kim Jong-Un declared war while at war with the same nation? That seems confusing.
