Dont send that shit by Ground, I dont want to have to handle it. Then again I could just put a quick address change on them and send them right back to sender.

It's hard to lend any credibility to North Korea. However, the threats being made are serious, and are therefore worthy of attention. So far, I think the response given has been the correct one. Hopefully, between the show of force and the radar ships being moved into the area, North Korea can be compelled to stand down and deescalate the situation.

North Korea deserves a bit more credibility than Iran, for two reasons. First, they've detonated a nuclear warhead already, whereas Iran is only threatening to do so. Second, Iran's president talks a big game, but he's been around too long to be considered stupid. As a small fish in a big pond, he does a lot of posturing, but is unlikely to act for fear of being crushed, should he step out of line.

Kim Jong Un, on the other hand, is a relatively new player in the game. He's got all of the craziness that comes with being a dictator's son, but I'm not yet confident that he won't do something incredibly stupid. I'm certain he's been raised to have a sort of superiority complex, puffed-up by his father and nationalist propaganda. If he's as confident as he tries to sound, it makes him an unpredictable element, and he should be monitored accordingly.

I thought it was always April Fool's day in North Korea, or have they've been serious this entire time?

No, no.. April Fools Day in North Korea is when they tell the people they'll be handing out food at a specific location and time, and then sit giggling in a window somewhere while they count how many people show up through their binoculars.

Pretty much, except they're EXTRA good at trolling. Whereas Iran is kinda.. "Meh, troll.." when North Korea trolls, the whole world does this:

My father actually presented Psy as the cause of all this. "So.. is that Gangnam style guy North Korean?" "He's South Korean." "Huh... Maybe he's the reason all this is happening? I mean.. Somehow?"

It's worth noting that their weapons inventory is extremely antiquated, and primarily left over from the height of the cold war. It wouldn't take long for US or NATO aircraft to obtain air superiority, and once you control the skies, the largest tank inventory on earth becomes nothing more than a target-rich environment.

They have the manpower, and they have the equipment, but the quality of both is severely lacking.

Lol, but in all seriousness, they've got tunnels all over the peninsula.
Who needs planes when you have tunnels? They would be like Alqueda, only with tunnels.

They wouldn't last long, no matter how many tunnels they have,
and even though I despise war, I would love a "free" North Korea, free of Big-Brothers and free of Juche.

Excuse me, have you ever been in a tunnel?
It's like a horizontal hole.
It's dark and long and scary.
You can't nuke a tunnel so we could only use useless Mini guns and grnades and sheit

YEAH! NO GODMODING IN WAR!!!
The US godmodded during World war 2. That started the cold war a, 300 page long occ argument about whether Nuclear weapons are godmod or not.
Soviet ended it by simply leaving the RP and allowing someone else to take russia.

No.

I am, however, taking the possibility of unprovoked hostile actions by the US very seriously.

Who has the track record of unwarranted military action against sovereign nations here? C'mon... :palm:

There's a difference between joint military exercises with another nation and saying "I'm gonna nuke you to oblivion!"

This.
I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

You could make the argument that much of the exercise was intended to provoke the DPRK, but that would be ignoring all the exercises before it.

There's no doubt in my mind it wasn't to make the DPRK upset, but at least the U.S. does it with style.
