3 is still rather small to declare a sweep any other elections in the state ?

My eyes are more interested in the New york house race myself.

I haven't been watching these elections too closely but fivethirtyeight has been tracking a few.

So far out of five seats(mayors, governors etc.) we've got 2 republicans projected to win, one democrat, one independent, and one guy who is from the conservative party of new york. We also have a 71% chance that gay marriage will be affirmed in Maine, and a 94% chance that same-sex partners will get equal rights to married couples in Washington.

Wouldn't exactly call it a "sweep", but it is worrying.

Too soon to tell. The Dark Lord and his henchmen in Congress still have the ability to do irreversible damage to this country.

no. it is simply the rejection of Obama's too strong push for increased gov't presence into the lives of Americans. much like many voted for Obama b/c they rejected Bush.

i am a very active Republican and i can promise that our party is taking too small of a step towards actual change. most of us are still the same fools who voted that liberal waste of a Republican name into office 9 years ago. i among the foolish, but not the unchanged. i voted for him b/c i thought he was an actual conservative.... he wasn't. being pro-life and pro-war meant he was pro-gov't as well.

this turn of the coin away from Obama's big gov't actions is in no way a resurgence of Republican support, it just means people are paying attention.... finally. and are looking for answers that big gov't cannot supply. eventually they'll wise up and vote in an actual conservative (i hope). until then, don't your breath in anticipation for a true comeback. this is just a swing of the anti-gov't pendulum. too bad not enough primadonna blowhards in D.C. will be swept aside in the swing.

by the way, i hate washington d.c. with a passion.

Ahhh...i am so glad the republicans won in VA today!!! I personally was so tired of our "beloved" Governor Tim Kaine (who is NOTHING like mark warner might i add). Under kaine's leadership, we have a growing deficit, decreased education funding, he tapped into our rainy day fund (emergency), to pay for transportation and the like...he turned the best managed state into the typical american: spending us out of house and home, with a credit card bill that goes on for days. Hopefully, the dems will buck up and actually DO something about this state of affairs. I usually vote democrat but they the ones on the ballot were not worthy of my vote (or most virginians obviously).

The independent (Mike Bloomberg) also ran under the Republican ticket. And the Conservative ticket.

There was too much irreversible damage done to this country between 2001 and 2009 for me to take this statement seriously.
