As long as scammers are weeded out from this particular industry, I don't get why it shouldn't be allowed to exist.

...But they're all scammers, it just depends to what extent. They take your money in return for a non existent service. Pretty much the textbook definition of a scam.

They're all scammers in the same way that magicians are scammers. They both fool you.

I find it funny no major psychic has ever even attempted to get the million dollar prize from James Randi.

I find funny no major psychic has ever won two lotteries in a row, or got into some position of political power. Precognition and telepathy should be nice bonuses for that.

I dont think anyone plays lotteries to win, its more of impulse buy. You go to shop, see a lottery ticket for two quid and use change from shopping to buy the ticket.

They don't even talk to any important dead people that could offer assistance. Instead they just ask some random guy that died in car crash if he's "watching over them"

Technically everyone is a psychic, you just have to BELIEVE

No but seriously....

You just gotta capture those few psychic moments ya have (a feeling similar to those gut feelings, or those premonitions that end up being correct) and say to your self "ima psychic" or do something of the like. Some people are stronger psychics than others

Me? Pretty damn weak psychic

Although i DID predict 3 earthquakes and 4 fire alarm malfunctions correctly :0 thats why i believe :0 it was COOL >:D :3

But all the tarot cards and crystal balls are nothing more than crap.

Fine print is already a tax on illiteracy, and the lottery is a tax on mathematical inability. You can't reduce "tax on stupidity" to a single part.

There are psychics who can predict stuff, but they just happen to have a stronger intuition than most people. The tarot cards are a device that can be reasonably accurate given the right interpretation of the card meaning, but the crystal ball is little more than decorative for them. Pretty much psychics are more rules lawyers with tarot cards than anything else and should only be used as an entertaining option for when you have a question about your life and not anything one shall design their life around.

When you're open to it working, more likely.

If I said "You must believe before you believe!" then there wouldn't be another damn convert. Not to mention I'd be lying, since I didn't "believe" when I started.

then you get the ones that sue people for pointing out their scam.

well, ok, as I explained to my son when he was thinking of making a small living as a tarot card reader, those who make money on being "psychic" do so by scamming their clients. if a psychic can afford a small store front business, they are going to cheat you out of your money.

it IS harmless if all you do is drop in and get an entertaining reading and never go back. the problem is, as you allude to, that they are trolling for people that they can hook on their services and get a large amount of money out of. so you not getting hooked doesn't make THEM harmless. it only means that you didn't take the bait.
