A little help, please...

Postby Maurepas » Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:24 pm

Idk if this is the right section for this, but, Im posting it here anyway cause I dont think we have a specific forum for this sort of thing...

My XBox360's disk tray will not close, it seems to be jammed somehow, it will close half way, stop, and then open again, and I have no idea why, Ive looked up in side it, and I dont see anything in it...

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and maybe knows of a way to fix it?

Sounds like there's already a disk stuck in there, that has hopped up on top of the tray thing.

At least - based on a dvd player of mine that had that problem.

With my dvd player, I think I solved it by turning the player upside down and hitting the eject button - all the parts shifted ever so slightly because of the inversion.

I thought about that, but, it wasnt a technical aspect of Nationstates, well, until Max gets off his ass and brings it to consoles like he promised, :p

you have something jammed in there follow above suggestion of tipping it upside down and shaking it

if you still haven't fixed it then I hope you know your way with opening electricals

No its not. Thats something completely differant. One of the several reasons why I like the nintendo revolution( I despise the name wii) is that it so rarely has technical problems like that, there is almost never lag, or glitches in the graphics and the like.

Then where there are kids, it has been my experience that you are bound to find anything jammed in anywhere.

check the warranty. if it's still good, then contact Microsoft. if it's not, then contact repair shops for options.

I agree that it sounds like something is jamed in there... the solution depends on how much he wants to spend, or risk in reparing it.

I'm not sure if MS will fix that... My friends have had similar problems and MS said they could fix it for around $200. You have what my friends call the "Demon Possession". And I think the warranty only covers RRoD.

Btw, if you're willing, telegram me your GT..

IT is likely something jammed in there. shake it out.
That failing spary a can of dust off in the bay, then shake it out.

Finally consider opening it.
If you are not comfortable see if you can find an old time computer, vcr, TV repair shop. They should charge about 60 bucks to get what ever it is out.

If it is a burnt out motor send it back to manufacturer.

Sounds like you're running low on headlight fluid. Head over to Napa or whatever you've got around there and pick up a couple quarts, top her off and you should* be good to go.

*If that still doesn't solve your problem, hit it with a hammer and post the hilarious results here for NSGs enjoyment.

Well, I ended up taking the tray out, and trying to get at it with tweezers, it wouldnt come out with hitting the eject button upside down or shaking it...

When I finally got to it, turns out the disk that was jammed in it was warped, and bent into the tracks, so, I couldnt pull it out, Im going to take it by Game Trader and see what they can do with it...

What I figure happened was my little brother tried to put it in there when the Xbox was upside down, and when it wouldnt close, tried to shove it, bending it...

Sucks, Id already rented a game for it before I realized what happened to it, lol...
