When MTV stopped being about music,I stopped watching. A bit later, when they started showing "Daria," I started watching again. They don't show "Daria" anymore and there's nothing else they do that's worth anything. Meh.

Welcome to the realisation everyone else reached about 10 years ago.

Even that is a conservative estimate. That's just when they started phazing out the last vestiges music, like TRL.

the fall of MTV began when whey stopped showing Music Videos and started showing crap like "Road Trip", "Real World" and that drama crap.

^This.

MTV= Coca Cola for the brain. It's not good for you and didn't even taste all that great in the first place.

In short, "fascist" is a modern word for "heretic," branding an individual worthy of excommunication from the body politic. The right uses otherwords ("reverse-racist," "feminazi," "unamerican," "communist") for similiar purposes, but these words have less elastic meanings. Fascism, however, is the gift that keeps on giving. - Jonah Goldberg, revisited.

MTV ceased being a station about music years ago. There's nothing of value to that network anymore. It has little to nothing to do with music and is all about giving popular crap more popularity.

Daria was hilarious. Now the channel seems to be run for and by the people that show used to make fun of.

Don't watch it then.

I'd rather more interesting things replace it.

Air time isn't something that is restricted.
You know you've made it on NSG when you have a whole thread created around what you said.

I think spin-offs of MTV are rather unneeded and to be honest just the classic MTV with pure music and music news will do. And MTV3, in the case of Finland, I like that channel too..

MTV has a habit of airing shows I like and then promptly canceling them just when I think there's a reason to watch again. Clone High was another good example.
