I'm also 15, and I do not do it. I have many friends who do, and I am also strongly for it's legalization because there is really no reason for it to be illegal, and keeping it so just provides a significant drain on the economy through enforcement and jailing the users.

Also, I don't quite think you understand just how many things fall under the label of "drug", and most everything is bad for you in some way.

I see the use of perception-altering substances, from alcohol to heroin, as a form of weakness. Whether used in a recreational manner, as a coping mechanism, because of addiction...it doesn't matter. It's a physical augmentation/distortion of perceived reality, and I find the desire to indulge in that sort of thing disgusting. The reflection that has on the person using such substances is what causes my dislike for them.

As for UT's question regarding my stance, essentially asking if "I'm only okay with people doing something if I do it", I was making the statement to which you were referring in the context of a vote. My perception of voting is not choosing whatever seems most politically correct or what will make people happy...it's asking for you opinion. 'Who do you WANT to be president', 'who do you WANT to be the senator'. In that case, a cannabis legalization question would be asking 'Do you WANT marijuana to be legal', and the answer in my case is 'no'.

That right there is the truth so many (almost everyone) people are unable to understand. One of the worst things it does can kill brain cells. "That's bad right?" Well guess what, television kills brain cells too. It's essentially t.v. in herbal form with the ability to help you recover from disease faster. "Well people have died from overdose." You can die from drinking too much water. There is almost nothing you can't overdose on. "It's the gateway to other drugs." The people that smoke marijuana for recreational purposes most likely aren't that concerned with the law, and as most people are unaware of how little it effects you, are probably not too concerned over their health. "It makes you think that it's not so bad and isn't effecting your body so much, so you decide to kick it up a notch and move on to harder drugs." Do you know why they think that? It's because it really isn't effecting their body so much. Think people, think!
