All matters of personal taste. There is nothing dignified about lynching, or having separate-and-inferior versions of everything.

Private businesses should have the right to discriminate and even refuse service to people of other races, religion, or those that like the wrong baseball team.

I think the govt. should not allow discrimination in the public sector though (including schools and drinking fountains in govt. buildings).

Agree, people can 'vote with their dollars' and most businesses wouldn't discriminate because it would kill their business due to bad press.

Don't complain when boycotts against companies that discriminate arise. I'll remember this post.

Why not? Learn to be self-sufficient, be much less lazy, and, whilst living a shorter life, probably find more enjoyment and fulfilment in it.

I read a story about a family in Indiana that is almost 100% self-sufficient. They are happy and live simply. Agree with other posters here, you can live simply of you want. It is very easy to do. Start with cutting out internet, phone, and cable. Grow a garden. Take baby steps from there towards self-sufficiency (start small in case you hate it).

I like simple living but I also like being able to work for 1 hour and having enough to buy a shirt. If I tried to sew a shirt myself, it woukd take me many hours. Division of labor has benefits as well.

Good, I agree. That is the free market approach to solving complaints and better than a new govt. law and probably more effective. I was taught early 'don't like something, don't buy it.' I agree with this statement. Let individuals make their choices on who to buy from. It is a reason I find it funny that anti-Chinese people will often buy products made in China (liberals that cry about Chinese companies mistreating their workers often do as well).

Which always makes for good relations with one's subjects, doesn't it? Unless he was immortal, too, he would just be a minor setback on the road to the total Christian society, rather like the Emperor Julian back in the 4th century. The continent was already thoroughly Christian. It was too late.

And when he died, they'd come back. Do you really think the leaders of the Church would say, "Oh, well, bad show, that. Better stay out of Thule, chaps"?

Prevent Labour governments in Britain. Thus saving the Empire, preventing many of the deaths in the winter of '47, the decline of Britain 1945-79 and 97-2010. Thus also probably preventing several wars in the process. As well as a LOT of evil dictators backed by the Yankees.
Read "A Man For All Seasons". That explains most of what I believe in. Except the Catholic bits.

Outside of here I do lead a rather unusual and colourful life. As a Spinster.
