Well, let's go over this. First off, the Romans used Guerilla tactics against an opponent using scorch and burn tactics in Italy. Second off, Varus was an idiot who somehow got control of three legions, then taxed the Germans to revolt before sending his troops into terrain they were neither equipped nor trained for, and trusted a German Prince who absolutely despised him.

you're waaay wrong there, source! My druid Brothers would never do such a thing.

so what was that comment earlier about " guess the part about Roman Generals usually being pretty competent (If Power Hungry) was entirely false too." just personal opinion eh?

I think it is either, WW2 or The Crusades.

Of course they wouldn't, the dead can't act. 8)

Eh. Species have been wiped out before. Worst that happens is all this stuff just ends up "decreasing the surplus population". Even if we wipe ourselves out, that probably would help. After all, we already wiped out a good few species, in the long run it would probably be better if we were stopped now. Besides, human history is so short, it has no real significance in the greater scale of things.

If you're going to end up in Hell, make it count. The last thing you want is to just barely end up in Hell. :p

I agree, if your going to sin, sin big.

Cameroi wrote:is being studiously ignored by corporate media.

it is the war between corporate greed, and the future of the human speices,
and possibly the entire web of life on planet earth.

marxism isn't the answer, and fascism is just a more extreme form of corporatocracy.
but corporate capitalism IS the problem. or should i say the motivation behind the majority of the diversity of them. especially the handful of most key specific ones.

While the climate change, overpopulation and growing demand, energy crisis and resource depletion are often mentioned in the media, there is another problem that is often disregarded. The development of modern technology has made mass production of everyday items mostly automated, which means, less workers are needed. Automobile plants, electronics factories, paper mills ... all require very few workers, compared to the total population, and the ratio increases all the time. How is the future human supposed to earn his living? The profits from the improved automated processes go into the pockets of a very limited number of individuals, making the old concepts of "labour" and "workforce" practically obsolete. The SF writers in the 80s envisioned a future where humans will be free from arduous tasks, but the present trends are towards even greater polarization in the society. Hence I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Marx and his idea of a "class struggle"...
