I'd first cut almost all spending to the military. After that I'd set up a simplified tax code summed up by the following:

There'd be a base income tax of 5% with 5% more per every $100,000 you've got until you reached $900,000. You'd also be taxed 1% more for every $1,000,000,000 you have until you reach $5,000,000,000. Corporate taxes would work under the same system as well since corporations are legal persons. Sales taxes would be raised to 40%. The saving tax would be eliminated. Business taxes would be 5%. All taxes would be handled by the IRS.

How do you like my idea?

I wouldnt put a cap on how high it goes, and I think that Sales tax goes a bit high...I probably wouldnt bother with eliminating, or lowering any current taxes, personally...

I like there to be a high savings rate and the cap needs to be there because we don't want to tax unreasonably.

The sales tax thing is ridiculous. Seriously? 40% huh? You realize thats extremely regressive.

I really meant it in terms of Personal Income, I could see exceptions being made for businesses, however, Id think few businesses should really get that big, tbqh, cause then you end up with the "too big to fail" problem...

But, for personal income, that still leaves you with well over a Billion dollars, honestly, that alone is too much for one person...

-Military would be cut by 30%
-Both Iraq and Afghanistan wars would be ended immediately
-All aid to foreign military would be ended immediately
-All overseas bases would be closed immediately
-Bush tax cuts repealed
-Taxes on wealthy increased to 43%
-Simplified progressive tax code
-Higher SS taxes on rich
-Reform welfare
-Foreign aid to every country would be ended immediately, too much of it ends up in a dictators Swiss bank account rather than in the hands of the people
-Raise payroll tax on wealthy
-Raise estate and gift taxes

You can thank me later for saving the US, I am going to be busy for the next few hours fighting off a Martian invasion of the Jovian moons.

That isn't going to happen with all the corruption. Big corporations also supply more taxes than a bunch of little ones.

Im not objecting to the taxes on corporations, just on them getting that large, the taxes on personal incomes in the Upper Class should make up for the decrease...
