Cut military spending, some welfare reform to catch the bad eggs, replace Congress with potted plants.

I would more or less replace the entire U.S. Government, turn it into a Communist nation, pull out all military assets from Afganistan, I would make all round tax cuts, I would start building jobs and I would lower the minum Wage to like $2 per hour. I would more or less, kill off most of the Government, Move most military units into reserve, and lower the GDP/c

Id cut some of the more useless military spending, subsidies, and grants...end the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, institute a working Universal Healthcare program, end the bailouts and break up the companies that are "too large to fail", put regulations on Wallstreet, etc...

They wouldnt end the debt, but, Id think itd bring it down to a manageable size...

by not looking for more wars to start and excuses to start them.
by spending even a quarter of what is being wasted on them on decent alternative physical public infrastructure instead.

It's a bit old, restrictive, and I don't know how accurate any of it is, but it's fun to see if you can actually lower the debt and keep things you want around.

Ending a couple of wars would help, yes, and working toward balanced budgets (with surpluses that we can use to pay down the debt).

But, to be quite honest, I want to see expanded government spending, not less, so my savings from the war efforts are probably about all you're going to squeeze out of me.

Institute universal healthcare, end the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, cut other military spending.

I think what should also be considered is legislating a some sort of a "budget" for all international money borrowing. Especially when it comes to certain nations *cough*China*cough*

Clever diversion, but it's what I'd expect from PBS.

Step 1: Challenge all the nations of South America to a "friendly" game of poker. Venezuela probably won't come, but that's okay because we only need 11 other players.
Step 1B: If fewer than 11 South American countries agree to come, then go to Central America.
Step 1C: If even that isn't enough, I guess we could invite Canada. They're always hanging around anyway.
Step 2: Cheat like a motherfucker.
Step 3: When each nation has busted, offer to loan them a trillion dollars so they can continue playing. It's only a game, it isn't like we're dealing with real money here, right?
Step 4: Cheat like a motherfucker
Step 5: Tell China that the $11 trillion in debt is now the problem of those 11 suckers over there.
Step 6: Avoid memes whenever possible.
Stuck somewhere between high school and old school.
Here's some bullshit I write. Maybe you want to read it?

Carbon tax.
That would raise $2.15US trillion per year and solve "Saving the environment"/"Global climate change".

I'd increase taxes significantly on the wealthy who can afford such a hike and raise taxes slightly for everyone except the poorest and drastically cut discretionary spending. If up to me, I'd repeal Medicare part D and raise the retirement age for Social Security from 65 to 75 and any surpluses made would be used to pay down the national debt.
