The universe where Paul Ryan wants to destroy the American health care system must be the same one where the sequester will cost 170 million jobs.

According to the title though, it's not Paul Ryan saying that, it's his alter ego, "Pual Ryan."
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

The US uses progressive taxation.

Learn what that is, then come back.

Just saying, having done a thoretical tax calculation yesterday, the highest bracket is 35%.

Ha. Hahaha. No no no.

My Grandfather is a doctor. He pays 42-ish % tax. Yeah.
This is theft. Taxing him is not, but that's ridiculous.

I will be honest, though, Ryan's quote did make me think of this classic blast from the past:

I didn't know that whether something is theft or not depends on the amount taken.

How the hell did that happen, unless you're including local/state and FICA taxes in his total tax burden and/or estate and gift taxes?

Note that I said bracket. Also, the number comes from the 2012 income tax rate thing. Where's your source?

Maybe if you're using instructions from a few years back for a 709/706, but otherwise you'd have to be preparing your 1040 using 1982 instructions to get anywhere near that. Now if you add on state/local taxes that's entirely possible.

I wonder when the GOP is going to give up their congressional health care that is paid for by taxes?
