I met an Oi! Punk band from Chicago at my local coffee shop in rural Texas. Not many people know them, but I had listened to them for years, so getting to meet them was pretty cool. We chatted for about an hour and they gave me their number in case they were ever in town again.

The name of the band is Flatfoot 56 if anybody knows of them.

Why does that not surprise me? Setamaita Sa (formerly of the Roosters) was a year above me in high school. He got into some trouble himself not too long ago.

Oh really? I always thought he was so nice. Such a shame.

He is, that's the sad thing. Really nice guy. Can't say anything wrong against him.

oh what was the trouble?
When you grow up, your heart dies.
It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of son of a b*tch or another.
RIP Dyakovo...we are all poorer for your loss.

I have seen the king of all that is awesome.
We are the Glorious Empire of the Scandinvans. Surrender or be destroyed. Your civilization has ended, your time is over. Your people will be assimilated into our Empire. Your technological distinctiveness shall be added to our own. Your culture shall be supplanted by our own. And your lands will be made into our lands.

"For five thousand years has our Empire endured. In war and peace we have thrived. Against overwhelming odds we evolved. No matter what we face we have always survived and grown. We shall always be triumphant." -Emperor Godfrey II

Hope for a brighter tomorrow - fight the fight, find the cure

I forgot to mention in my previous post I made earlier that I have encountered an ex-Government Minister. The reason why I forgot was because the experience was so entirely forgettable, and consisted in it's entirity of sitting through a patronising lecture by said person when the knowledge was widespread that this ex-Government Minister was an ex-Government Minister as opposed to remaining a Government Minister because they cracked under the 'pressure' and went a bit barmy and really should have remained in the provincial job they had beforehand where they could have remained useless and gone barmy without actually doing any major harm.

Unfortunatly for me, it was one of those situations where the encounter was made somewhat unavoidable.

I've also encountered a Member of Parliament at an awards ceremony. They were an MP then, not anymore. Encountering an MP is an event in this day and age.

I've also encountered Tony Benn, who is very laid back and relaxed in whoever's company. Very knowledgable too.

It is a shame, not playing in the Four Nations because of it.

Talking of league players, Ben Matulino who plays for the Warriors and Kiwis apparently wanted to give me a hiding a few years back, which was awkward. I had a good chat to Steve Price at the Wellington Phoenix v LA Galaxy game, his wife is lovely. I've met a few cricket players too, mostly in the course of age grade stuff though.

I've also spewed in the deputy prime minister's hallway, outside his room. But yeah, that's not really that random.

Oh and Saint Jade: Sa.
