I'm not very sad to see him go - partially because I'm politically very much in opposition to him and partially because no one deserves to live that long in a vegetative state.

That said, may he rest in peace.

Idk, something with laws against euthanasia and pulling the plug.

I don't know Israel law but most places allow you to stop providing extra care including tube feeding.

It's actually forbidden by Israeli law, although there have been exceptions.

Or so I've read.

A person that was implicated in war crimes, and forcefully removed people from the land where they were born. He just died? Tough deal. I don't think the families of those he murdered in Palestine feel very sorry about this er... information.

Oh, the right hates him too. Don't worry ;) He was very good at making controversial decisions. From ordering soldiers to do nothing while children were slaughtered in front of them to telling Jewish settlers to get the hell out of the Gaza strip.

Still, he did do some good as well.

Your nation is like a son. What it does right is your merit, as well as what it does wrong is your fault. When you praise it, be lucid and avoid exaggeration. Praising it too much can make it indolent. On the other hand, when you criticize it, be harsh, but do not ridicule it. Do your best to improve it, not through derision or disdain, but through good examples and dedication.

Good Day, Rejoice! Good Motherfucking riddance of that bastard butcher.

.

News flash son, I dont need to hate Jews as a People to hate the actions of a twisted national government, led by barbarous theocratic Generalissimos, who have far more blood on their hands than on their foreheads.

You, typical, scream "ANTISEMITE" at anyone who doesnt like anything any passing Israeli Government Monster does... no Junior they arent all fucking heroes. Get a role model.

I consider Sharon co-responsible for the massacres at Sabra and Shatila, and for a lot of other killings of non-combatants, that is, a war criminal. I must add, though, that at least later he tried to work for a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine.

Ridiculous thing to say. I am as right-wing as you can get, but I still hate him. Imagine how pissed you'd be if some cockroach broke into your house, told you that this land was not yours, and killed your family?

I mean, let's look the man up methodically and without biases. In 1948, Sharon joined the Haganah, a militant zionist organisation that led military actions ( often resulting in the death of civilians ) against arabs, and the british military. The Haganah was feared for its brutality.

In 1953, he entered unit 101, as a major. He participated in operation Shoshana: its objective was to "cleanse" Qibya, a small palestinian village, from its armed militants. But the raid resulted in the death of 69 palestinian civilians. Some were shot, others were forced to stay within their houses while they were destroyed upon them.

Sharon was also found indirectly responsible, by Israeli authorities, of the Sabra and Chatila massacre. He resigned, but came back in Politics. He stopped negociations with Arafat, and started building the well known anti-terror wall. He consistently supported further colonisation of inhabited palestinian territories.

This, is who Ariel Sharon was. There is no logical reason to mourn such a man.

Considering how Yitzhak Rabin got killed by an Israeli right-wing terrorist just for suggesting something similar, yes, he tried hard and actually managed to end the formal occupation of the Gaza Strip.

Not a lot? Yea, not a lot. But it was difficult even to get that done.
