What if the Axis won the Second World War?

Postby Port Charlotte » Sun Mar 10, 2013 6:59 am

What if Germany destroyed the British Fleet in the Atlantic, and starved the country to death with their submarines? What if they pushed the soviets back and tok the USSR? What if japan sunk the two american Aircraft Carriers at Pearl?

I believe if the War in Europe was won with the Invasion of Britian the United states would have been invaded on three fronts. East, West from Germany and Japan and Mexico would Turn and invade from the south.

I'd be dead.

How the fuck would Germany invade from the East instead of Japan?
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Someone on NSG would be starting a thread about 'what if the allies won the war' and people would be bitching about union flags being banned.

Mexico might, and I stress the word /might/, have invaded in WWI if Germany was sure to win. But in WWII? I'm not so sure on that.

And I'd like to think that the US would have resorted to calling Japan and Germany over to watch a test bombing of their nuclear weapons in hopes to scare them into calling some kind of peace, like they had thought of doing before the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It could be 2 scenarios:
Scenario 1) Cold War between Japan and Nazi Empire
Scenario 2) USA defeats Japan but Germany and Italy conquers Europe. Peace treaty between Axis and America signed. Cold War similar to the movie Farherland.

It is almost possible for the Axis to do better than they did in our timeline. Sure, a few pig-headed decisions hastened the end by one or two years at most, but it is very unlikely the Axis could have been more successful, considering they were facing the industrial might and 6000 kilometer moat of the USA.

Europe and Northern Africa would be dominated by Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy while East Asia, Indochina, and the Pacific would be dominated by Imperial Japan.

My filthy rich Walloon great-grandfathers and one grandfather would have been forced to sell their businesses to a Flemish protégé of the Nazis, my father would have been born to a humble family with even more alcohol flowing, and never would have been able to afford the plane ticket that took him to Canada in 1971, which would at that point probably be one of the only places the Nazis didn't care to invade, since the Prime Minister was quite Nazi-friendly anyway and probably would have sent help once they crossed into America, and I, as a hypothetical being, would probably either be living in a ghetto outside Brussels or in the underground operations of the Communist Party of Canada, led by a direct descendant of Tim Buck.

There would have been a Arab Spring style revolt sometime in the 1970s or 80s.

Meh, I like a good laugh in the middle of a topic from time to time.

Anyways - I suppose the specifics would be as to when exactly the Axis would bush back the Allies. For example, are we talking late-war Battle of the Bulge turnabout where Germany somehow manages a longterm victory? Or is this more like a repelling of the invasions of Normandy and Italy and Africa with ease?

And I think the problem with
Port Charlotte wrote:What if they pushed the soviets back and took the USSR?
is that the USSR, in my opinion, would simply be too large to occupy. Perhaps with Japan's help - but with their focus on America and their dwindling supply of oil... I don't know. It'd be tough, to be sure.

I think a more realistic approach to an alternate timeline would not be if the Axis won the war, but if America had simply remained isolationist. And no, I'm not saying Americans were the fiercest fighters (in my opinion, Polish were: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of ... _in_Danzig - not to mention their part in the Battle of Britain and in other places) - I'm just saying that they held out so long from the war that the United States was still intact, without crumbling infrastructure and other results of war.
