I want to take a 2x4 to people for telling women to cover up.

Don't make the beautiful people cover up. Then only the ugly people will walk around wearing clothes they really shouldn't.
That's also known as fender-bender season, because the second the summer dresses come out and the spring breezes off of the lake start...

Increased anti-bullying messaging, but still nothing about sexual assault, even though sexual assault could easily be seen as bullying when happening between members of a young peer group.

Associating sexual assault with bullying both minimizes sexual assault and sensationalizes bullying.

Gif head-desk'd.

Oh gods. You would think that that's one of the first things to teach -- not to touch other children without their consent.

Hell, I remember being in third grade, and someone came to our classroom and told us about sexual abuse -- they had diagrams on where the "no-no" spots were (i.e. in kids in swimming suits) and what to do if someone touched us there -- and gave us a paper for us to fill out with emergency numbers and stuff.

Did you just say that, for example, fingering someone while they're asleep isn't rape?

Did I read that right?

God Supports Rape

Postby Lards Ego » Wed Mar 20, 2013 11:28 am

Well, in the opinion of the Church of Chyst, I believe that Rape is only normal. For example, when an innocent little boy walks into our church, the only NORMAL thing is to rape him. Seriously, Why can't people understand that Raping and molesting innocent-ish people, just gives them an opportunity to Learn when to shut their mouths.

In short: Rape is god's way of saying: "hey, Fuck you".

I'm not sure if you read it right because you specified fingering. I'm saying that even if full on penis in vagina intercourse occurs it is not rape.

So you're saying that having penetrative sex with someone while they're asleep and therefore by definition cannot consent is not rape.

I weep for humanity.

Considering other things you've advocated in this thread, I'm going to point out that your perspective is not compatible with educational methods that I'm familiar with.

Yes. I'm saying that the absence of consent is not sufficient, there must be an expressed desire.

So withholding consent doesn't equate, in your worldview, to saying "No"?

So you're saying that having sex with someone who's in a coma is fine, because they're not saying "No"?

I genuinely don't understand how you could possibly have come to the conclusion that sticking your penis in someone without their consent isn't rape.

And I'm saying that nonconsensual sexual activity is rape, period.

Because there are ,again, crimes that aren't rape. It's clearly some kind of crime but it's not rape.

I refer you to the FBI's definition.

Rape is, generally, penetrating someone's vagina or anus with something without their consent.

If you're asleep, you can't consent.

Therefore having sex with someone who's asleep is having sex with someone without their consent.

Therefore having sex with someone who's asleep is rape.

Why is this a difficult concept?
