No, I'm thinking pretty clearly, and not contradicting myself.

The senate was designed to be undemocratic in the original constitution, but we have amended the constitution in the past to make it more democratic, and since the founders made our constitution to be amended, there's nothing contradictory about that. I'd be open to amending it more to change the small state bias, but when I'm talking about the problem of the undemocratic senate, I'm not talking about how it is currently constructed by the constitution, I'm talking about the rules of the filibuster, which do not need an amendment to fix. We only need to fix the rules, which are passed at the beginning of every two year session.

Requiring a supermajority ≠ undemocratic. You mention amending the Constitution, that also requires at least one supermajority:

Article V wrote:
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

Or are you saying that the Constitution is itself undemocratic?

Of course, and it has to be to protect people's rights. It is absolutely right, just, and fair for the constitution to be undemocratic in some ways to protect people's rights. But it is good to have some democracy as well, and I think we should have more in the senate. Majority rule is a basic principle of democracy. Supermajority requirements are as undemocratic as a requirement for unanimity would be.

When did you liberate Finland? Or Sweden? Or Estonia? Or Poland? Etcetera. Many of these nations listed never needed American liberation, never got it even if they needed it and are only free now because the USSR collapsed. And whatnot.

In the case of Finland, we actually only got aid FROM the Germans (the Brits and whatnot gave us moral support, but that doesn't help when you're getting shot at), so no go with that. USSR was likely to collapse when it did anyway, so that's a no go too. Sweden was neutral and never was taken over by the Germans nor the Soviets, so that, too, is a no go.

WAT!
