You'd think that there weren't chances already to find an excuse to go to war before. Why should they go to war now?

The stupid factor of going to war is WAY to high on this one.. but as noted the financial factor. With things in there current state sending troops into yet another war / policing situation is both ludicrous and well... improbable on multiple levels. Somebody else already said it as well. Both parties will lose WAY TO DAMN much if this was to come to fruition.

So yeah, the simple answer.. I don't see this happening and if it does... both leaders of both nations deserve to be removed, banned, shunned and outright thrown out of their nations forever.

No. Attacking Iran would be a terrible mistake. The U.S. and it's terrorist allies in Israel would win but it would make Vietnam look like a picnic.

Well then, that'd make North Korea a much more serious threat in nuclear weapons development than Iran, doesn't it.

It is entirely the case. The US will become an oil exporter in the next five years. We don't need Iran for anything. Neither does the EU.

Well in a sense we technically don't need Iran for oil, but leave it up to the oil barons to have any say in the matter. They still prefer to shaft taxpayers on both ends. Syria lacks an oil field and a possible major invasion, period. In the end, it's all about the oil, Lebowski.

Not this year. It will happen at some point in the future, but there has to be something more troubling afoot in Iran to even give any reason to war with them. War with North Korea would be far more likely as they have the technology to produce plutonium and send satellites into space which means they have the technological abilities to build an ICBM some point in the near future.

I think within this decade it's highly likely with events in the middle east and with oil becoming a more scare resource, however I doubt it will be this year unless Iran was to invade Isreal which itself is highly unlikely at the minute. When economies begin to stabilise then I can see it as a possibility.

Sure, the US will invade Iran.

But only if you are on the frontlines. Maybe you could get a broom and sweep mines, or a rifle and fight Iranian soldiers and militants.

america doesn't need to be at war with anyone. there is a faction that calls itself conservative, while opposing the conservation of anything, that cannot stand to see any nation, behaving as a mature, responsible, adult.
we do not live in a world that can afford to let nations behave like spoiled rich kids having a tiff in a sand box.
bullying the rest of the planet is not leadership. it is bullying.
iran hasn't been very nice. the 'western' world hasn't been very nice to iran either. for so long that iran may have forgotten any such things as being nice could possibly exist.
as indeed a lot of people around here seem to have no idea a world gratifying to everyone to live in is possible either.

war sound very exiting, as long as someone else gets to do all the dying.
will the rest of the world continue to tolerate being prey to a unilaterally predatory superpower?

iran is a problem. but the u.s. is still insisting on making itself a bigger problem, as the brittain it succeeded from almost 300 years ago, had been then, and other empires, whether in name or in practice before.
history is not an unbroken continuum of dominace and subjigation by one empire after another. this is not an eternal and inevitable condition.

not this year, 2013, no. the eventuality of course remains possible. my point is just that there are bigger threats then iran. the motivation for agitating for war has always been a far bigger threat, with far more wider ranging devistation to 'civilization', then any single armed conflict itself.

iran isn't the good guy by any means. but war isn't going to solve iran's problems, nor anyone else's problem with it.
ever since a bunch of guys with some big airplanes knocked down some big buildings more then a decade ago now, we've had this insane war fever.

i can easily name many things i don't like about iran.
i cannot name one, that america bogging itself down in yet another stupid, needless war, is any kind of remotely probable solution to.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

"economic freedom" is "the cake"

Chances are there will be major political changes in Iran before the US gets to invade Iran. War with NK. is not that likely. China and Russia do not want the US in NK.

On the internet news they say that NK. is on the verge of canceling the ceasefire agreement that stopped the Korea war.

North Korea is vowing to cancel the 1953 Korean War cease-fire because of sanctions and ongoing U.S.-South Korean joint military drills

The problem is that there are US troops pretty much enforce the demilitarized zone. If North Korea invades, American troops are certain to be involved as the ceasefire is no longer in play. That war would not be of the American government's choice, but forced by North Korea cancelling the ceasefire.

No and no. No one in the US government wants a war with Iran to happen, and for good reason. They also have no reason to institute a draft either, so you're getting yourself worked up for nothing.

You're talking about genuine Conservatism, right? Because most definitely, a true genuine Conservative is more than hesitant when it comes to waging wars. Unfortunately, the US government is still too far to the right even with Obama and a bit of Democrat majority control of Congress. (Not a super majority control unfortunately).
