So, NSG, what do you think?

yawn, he'll probably get caught doing blow off of a strippers back or soemthing. Why don't we wait until he actually tries to run for office before speculating on whether he can be president. As of now, I'd say the odds are distinctly against him.

Your attempt at filing me as a racist has been noted and ignored.

He would be like Obama in the sense that he seems to be fairly charismatic and young.

Americans never cease to amaze me.

What is the point in building a republic if you're going to end up giving power to quasi-monarchical dynasties of politicians?

It is but it is natural for any human society to admire a group of people and give them authority.

There will always be a natural aristocracy, no matter what system of government exist. It is just normal human society.

If they didn't have some limited heirarchy at least during the hunt, they wouldn't have been very successful at hunting. :eyebrow:

I doubt that. Organizational hierarchy is (as was pointed out before) quite necessary for effective hunting and a lack of societal hierarchy would imply that the youngest child held the same amount of respect as the most accomplished adult.

Most hunting was done on an individual basis and required no hierarchy structure to be successful. The case is not true for all hunter-gatherers, but for the overwhelming majority egalitarianism was the norm.

Hierarchy's dominance came about due to agriculture, because farmers allowed people to live in larger and larger settlements, not to mention that they had to protect their farmland.

It would be just like the Republican leadership to think that they can take a name that everyone hates and distrusts, change the racial background of the candidate, and achieve electoral victory. I suppose it beats coming up with new ideas however when you're morally and intellectually bankrupt.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.
