Of course there are down sides to "being male" just as there are downsides to "being female". Is one more important than the other? It depends on the issue, because the majority of times, the issues happen to both genders, just at differing rates.

Everyone's life will suck. For certain values of suck.

Precisely. So we should combat the suck instead of trying to wallow in it, or play the "whose got a bigger d*ck [of shittiness] game". /crude but my point is made.

I must admit I automatically set most people that I know on friendzone, regardless of whether or not they're interested in me. It takes a lot of hints for me to change that setting.

I usually realize much later that they were interested in me. It just takes a long time for me to lower the shield, so to speak.

Not your fault, the quote function is broken.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

I think your quote thing is a bit screwed up.

Anyway I have nothing against radical feminism in principle, but when literally everything on radical feminism I've ever read and every radical feminist I've ever talked to has been horribly transphobic, I'm not much inclined to like the ideology as a whole.

I also wouldn't call trying to solve the root of the patriarchy radical as in extreme. Perhaps I've been unaware of that definition, and I've never known the origins of the term. But to me, isn't solving the root of patriarchy a pretty basic principle of feminism?

"Friend" and "Friendzoned" are two things. I typically find it harder to deal with people who have been friendzoned for the first few months, until they catch the hint. "Friend" is the default position for everyone, including The, and Gif. Because if they aren't friends, how the hell can they be Lovers?

Sorry, saw the quotes wrong. Ugh. Whomever said it, replace your name with Ostroeuropa in my post and sorry Ostroeuropa! I'm in a hurry and have a lot of work to do and must have misread.

Anyway, sorry about that. I used to identify as one myself. I still do, on and off.

But there's fairly rampant transphobia in the field, and that's not something I'm comfortable of supporting. I will concede that the statement was needlessly hyperbolic though.

I'm pretty rad, and a feminist, and I love me some inclusiveness. Sex/Gender/Gender Expression will free us all.

Belgian women, much like women in other nations, are a diverse lot. You'll find some crazies, some babes, some crazy babes, some radical marxists, and the occasional "Cougar" who will absolutely destroy your sexual chi.

I knew I was being too hopeful when I expected it to be a comprehensive analysis of male privilege.
