Why are assault weapons (per the legal definition) more dangerous than weapons that don't fit that classification? How do you determine which weapons are specifically designed "to commit assault"? What are the criteria?

While I agree, I think they're unnecessary, its impossible to take gun culture out of America.
It just can't be done. As well, what happens when they're made readily available with 3D printing? It'll only increase the gun culture. So, best thing we can do is put gun education in schools, public awareness campaigns, and address mental health and bullying.

no weapon is made to assault, they are made to:

-kill enemies
-self-defense
-hunting or recreation
-some function as a tool (machetes for hacking at foliage)
