More at the link.

Long story short, it's being bankrolled by Freedomworks and Americans for Prosperity because the tobacco industry hates getting taxed and having regulations put on their cancer sticks. What's interesting to me is that although they didn't get really popular until 2008, they've had a website as far back as 2002. I had honestly thought the major backers scooped up a fledgling movement because they were pissed about the possibility of a black democrat becoming president. That this has been around for so long, and was the focus of so much planning is downright scary. Even scarier is the apparent fact that they are going international to spread this anti-democracy infection of a "movement" to other countries.

So, what say you NSG? Surprised? Alarmed? Pleased? Indifferent? Hungry?

Bullshit,

You can't discredit the truth and freedom.

The Tea Party was inspired in opposition to crony capitalism, more specifically the Federal government bailout of the banking and finance industry -- plundering Main Street to save campaign contributors on Wall Street.

Indeed, the revolving door of corruption between Washington and Wall Street remains to this day and it was one of the primary causal mechanisms for the financial crisis of 2008 The bad actors on Wall Street knew they would get bailed out because they are Washington are one in the same.

In sum, it is amusing when someone tries to tell me why me and my friends side with the Tea Party --- I mean how the hell do you know?

1/10

This inane retort is devoid of substantive facts, logic and empirical evidence. Seems to simply be a quid pro quo scheme to bore the OP to death in exchange for the information brought to light.

In sum, terrible post.

Not surprised really. After all, the Tea Party is a corporate movement that claims to support freedom while it actually wants to destroy all taxes for corporations and the CEO's salaries, leaving corporate CEO's with massive amounts of money in their bags and the rest of us all to die and leaving the state's budget even less and making the debt grow. Some of them even wanted to "abolish" taxes. Funny guys, they are.

Well, no, in fairness, the Tea Party as an entity is more that corporate shills. It's corporate shills and people too unaware to recognize they're being manipulated by corporate shills.

Alright, let's say that's the case, the Tea Partiers are being manipulated by corporations. So? They're being manipulated by Americans, and Tea Party is a true American movement. Meanwhile, traitorous OWS'ers are being funded by regimes hostile to the US, like China and Russia.

According to the article, they do.
The implications of the UCSF Quarterback report are widespread. The main concern expressed by the authors lies in what they see happening overseas as the Tea Party movement expands internationally, training activists in 30 countries including Israel, Georgia, Japan and Serbia.

It started when England kept a tax on tea, which angered the Colonies of America. The Sons of Liberty, disguised as Indians, boarded merchant ships and threw cases of tea into the Boston Harbor. That is the origin of the Tea Party.

After much extensive search I have found the video which shows the beginnings of the Tea Party. They seemed harmless at the beginning. Who knows what happened over time. :o

And then Rainbow Dash flew out of James Madison's ass and shat out rainbows as she created a double rainbow accross the sky, inspiring the creation of the Constitution.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

The Victorian era was also the colonial era, so I do not see the problem.

The Tea Party is playing like a Resident Evil story: An engineered corporate weapon that's suddenly gone out of control, mutating into something beyond human comprehension.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

No. That's where the name came from... They undoubtedly figured there'd be plenty of people who're too ignorant to realize the Boston Tea Party wasn't a protest against be taxed, it was a protest against taxation without representation.

This is not going to be cute when we go down the same road as the syrians. Wealthy people.... job creators if you will.... are already leaving the states and becoming expats because they are being screwed hard by rising tax rates. People who cannot or will not leave will revolt eventually rather than continue to be raped by the government. I guarantee things will be very, very not cute if that happens.

Why would they leave the states? Europe generally has higher tax rates, and everywhere else the standard of living is not even close to as absurdly high as it is in America.
